The Clinical Systems Coordinator isresponsible for configuration, testing, and development of theHospital Information Systems (HIS) clinical modules.

The ClinicalSystems Coordinator works with a wide variety of groups within thehospital environment including clinicians, Medical Staff, CNO,ACNO, Education Department, other Clinical Systems Coordinators andclinical department directors to enhance clinical efficiency, thequality of patient care, and the reporting of such through thedesignated EMR programs.

This position reports to the Director ofInformation Technology. Provides education to employees on systemuse as requested.

Must have a currentWashington State RN License

  • TheClinical Systems Coordinator is responsible for the configuration,testing and analysis of the Hospital Information Systems (HIS)clinical modules by providing on-going software and end usersupport as assigned by the Director of InformationTechnology.
  • Ability to gain a comprehensiveknowledge of the HIS clinical system modules, including the abilityto determine procedural issues versus system / applicationdeficiencies.

Ability to provide a solution by applying knowledgeas necessary.

  • Tracks and provides timelydocumentation and corrective action by effectively coordinatingreported deficiencies or errors that occur in the softwareapplications.
  • Works directly with theaffected software vendor to address software error messages or toreport application deficiencies.
  • Effectivelycommunicates with clinicians, Medical Staff, CNO, ACNO and ClinicalDepartment Directors on any problems or concerns with the clinicalsystems keeping a positive interaction of informationsharing.
  • Works closely with other SystemsAnalysts of interfaced systems to ensure optimal performance. Thisincludes testing of new interfaces and system change requests toreduce the impact on end users.
  • Participatesin the development and maintenance of clinical systems policies andprocedures, objectives and safety standards pertaining to HISClinical Systems.
  • Provides front line supportduring go-live of new clinical systems; provides super userassessment and training.
  • Promotes awarenessof the importance of data validity and datasecurity.
  • Reviews all vendor product releasedupdates and upgrades received from theHelpdesk.
  • Performs system maintenance relatedto master files and clinical screen designs.
  • Assess the education needs of nursing staff related to clinicalsystems and charting standards.
  • Provideson-going clinical systems education on new system enhancements andeffectively promotes the clinical systems use.
  • Develops and writes clinical systems education plans, policiesand procedures and manuals. Developscompetencies.
  • Regularly visits andcommunicates with nursing units and documents reported deficienciesand / or suggested changes.
  • Participates inQuality Improvement and Nursing Leadership teams to facilitateinitiatives of clinical systems.

WageScale : $34.28 - $67.44
