We are searching for a Principal Accountant on behalf of our client. This is a 6-month contract assignment. The person will lead a special project to clean up balance sheets for a non-operated oil and gas play.
This will involve reconciling revenue, cash receipts, and outstanding accounts receivable.
Location : Houston, TX 77002
Responsibilities :
- Expected deliverables will be improved process flows and documentation, completed reconciliations, and tagging and clearing aged balances.
- Will work closely with the revenue team and project controllers to understand the existing monthly close process, background on the business structure, and current issues to be resolved.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, plus 6+ years of accounting experience required. A CPA, CMA, MBA, or Master's in Accounting is strongly preferred.
- Experience with handling complex account reconciliations.
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred.
- Self-starter, proactive mindset.
- Tenacious approach to digging into complex problem solving.
