Automation Technician

Hoffer Plastics is hiring for "Automation Technician"
Programs, repairs and maintains all automated machinery and auxiliary equipment
Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.

Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of :
- All automated devices used for the purpose of runner removal, part handling, separation or packing.
- All machinery located at the press or in the Assembly department used in secondary operations
- All auxiliary equipment
- Diagnose trouble, disassemble, and determine extent of repairs necessary.
- Make up repair parts, replace defective components.
- Perform necessary welding and sheet metal operations involved in repairing equipment.
- Operate lathe, vertical mill, drill press and grinders as required.
- Occasionally direct an assigned helper.
- Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner
- Observe safety rules and wearing of prescribed protective clothing or items.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 2 year technical degree in related field
- 5 years of experience in related discipline required.
- Mechanical comprehension as well as strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications and blueprints
- Programming knowledge of PLC systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.
- Robotic experience as well as vision detection systems
- Use of Computer Aided Design Software and strong general computer skills
