Electrical Engineer Chief - Navy

SAIC has an opening for an Electrical Engineer Chief. This is a remote position that can be worked from any location in the U.S.
- Provide strategic planning support for Microelectronics and Printed Circuit Board technology enhancements and new developments.
- Identify the high risk areas for DoD and work with a team of subject matter experts to create a plan to reduce the risk and to create technical options for long term stability.
- Researches, designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment;
radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.
- Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results.
- Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.
- May also review vendors' abilities to support development.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY : Develops information, which extends knowledge in a given field. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products.
FREEDOM TO ACT : Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs.
Plans Ramp;D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives. Work is checked only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring a long-term perspective.
Virtually self-supervisory. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives.
IMPACT : Designs research and develops highly advanced new applications resulting in new product / business opportunities for the company.
Erroneous decisions or recommendations would have a long-term negative effect on organization's reputation and business posture.
LIAISON : Serves as consultant to top management in long-range company planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements.
Prime spokesperson on company's technical capabilities and future directions. Often instrumental in attracting and obtaining major new company business. / p
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and more than 18 years of experience required, in Printed Circuit Board and Electronics strategic planning for DoD.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS AND ABILITY :
- Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
- Apply and / or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.
- Viewed as an expert in the field.
- Participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.
CLEARANCE :
- Must have Secret clearance to start work on the contract.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Target salary range : $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
