About The Position

Description :

The Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse will work nights.

Responsibilities include starting and managing IVs.

Administer medications safely.

Monitor vital signs and patient responses.

Educate patients on treatments and self-care.

Collaborate with the care team on patient plans.

Utilize EPIC EMR for charting.

Float to lower acuity units as needed.

Follow hospital policies and maintain patient safety.

Required Qualifications :

Active RN license in the applicable state.

A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.

BCLS and IV certification required.

Experience with EPIC preferred.

Candidates must possess strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.

Travel experience is a plus.

Patient Care Details :

The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.

Daily census is approximately 23 patients.

The unit consists of 18 rooms and 27 beds.

Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary.

Patient diagnoses cover a wide range of general medicine issues, including opioid abuse, organ failure, changes in level of consciousness, behavioral issues, and developmental delay issues.

Special procedures and unit details include various medical-surgical procedures, IV medications, chest tubes, and others.

Candidates should be comfortable working with standard medical-surgical equipment.

Weekend coverage is required with a commitment to 3-4 weekend days a month.

Candidates must be willing to comply with credentialing requirements.

Two professional references are required, including at least one from a leadership capacity.
