Position Purpose

To perform the assigned job as indicated by his / her supervisor in accordance to the Safety, QA and USDA rules.

Key Accountabilities

Responsible for training employees on assigned production line in all aspects of production, including machine operation, personal and food safety, USDA guidelines and efficiency requirements.

Assists line lead and may act as line lead when lead is unavailable.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes efficient production processes for all the company’s product lines.
  • Regularly train employees in methods of improving production processes.
  • Responsible for training employees on skilled positions such as, material handlers, machine and texwrap operators (all levels).
  • Educate each operator in the proper performance of their particular job
  • Ensure line workers and operators are performing at maximum capability.
  • Inspects production lines regularly to assure that Good Manufacturing Practices and safety regulations are followed.
  • Makes certain that production areas are kept clean of waste, debris, and liquids to avoid safety hazards.
  • Monitors employee compliance with company regulations. Coaches employees to ensure compliance. Works with supervisor for disciplinary actions.
  • Equipment settings, fill and update the paper work by equipment and line
  • Effectively communicates as required with supervisor.
  • Resolves quality problems with QA participation immediately.
  • Responsible for upholding, following and maintaining the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing.
  • Serves as mentor for sponsors.
  • Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Good communications skills, hardworking, dependable, safety conscious and bilingual, English / Spanish preferred.
  • High School; or Equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of training or Supervisory experience in food production.
  • Knowledgeable of USDA and OSHA regulations.
  • To be able to communicate, coach, and train line production workers to optimize production. Must have the ability to make critical decisions, coach and and expedite solutions when situations arise.

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

Required

  • Good communications skills, hardworking, dependable, safety conscious

  • 2-5 years of training or Supervisory experience in food production.

Preferred

Bilingual, English / Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Work bending and squatting.
  • Work making fast and repetitive hand motions.
  • Work in cold refrigerated and frozen conditions.
  • And able to push / pull heavy loads using hand jack.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed outside weather conditions, wet and / or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
  • Ability to work different shifts and weekends.

Food Safety / Quality

  • Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and / or quality assurance.
  • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.

2nd shift Monday through Friday from 2 : 30pm to 11pm
