Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel Certified Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Job Description & Requirements
1. General job duties :
The Surgical Technologist functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing a safe environment for all age groups of surgical patients; assists the perioperative nurse with patient care; prepares and maintains supplies in the operating room (OR) while maintaining a professional and efficient manner; assures that procedure preparations are based on individual patient and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
2. Equipment utilized in the unit / dept. :
Computer systems : eChart (electronic charting system); SIS, MAK, O.R.Storz 1 Video and routing equipment.
Surgical Equipment - Storz Video equipment, Midas; Stryker drills; Leica Microscopes, Storz morcellator; Foce Triad Cautery machines; Force FX cautery machines; Aquamantys machines; Ostemoed drills; Sani Serve fluid warmer / cooler. Surgical Beds / positions - Jackson spine tables; Jackson fracture tables; Tenent positioner; Skytron and Getinge O.R. beds
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2 years' experience in busy surgical area.
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or successful completion of a Surgical Technology program required 9 / 30 / 24 (will not accept on-the-job training).
4. Specific licensures and certifications / registrations required :
BLS is required
CST preferred
5. Shift or schedule requirements :
Determined at the time of Job Posting
There may be some call depending on volumes
6. Floating to other units / departments :
Floating to East Campus OR possible (approx. 3 miles from West Campus).
7. Bed size / number of rooms for this unit / dept. :
7 room surgical suite
8. Dress Code :
Scrubs will be provided. No shoes with holes.
9. Tell us about the unit / department specific training and orientation program :
Week 1 - ask them to hand on everything possible, starting with cases they will see most often on their shift.
