JOB SUMMARY
Hope High School is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Science teacher to fill one teaching position opening immediately.
Teachers are responsible for instruction and delivery of content to students enrolled in courses (via both direct instruction and independent study classes) and creation / revision of Hope High School curriculum in collaboration with the curriculum team.
GENERAL TEACHER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach approved curriculum material
- Identify and implement supplemental resources
- Assess and accommodate students' learning needs
- Enforce administrative policies as it pertains to the classroom and teacher's role
- Manage an effective classroom environment
- Utilize technology for instruction
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Analyze benchmark data for student interventions
- Participate in student meetings (IEP, MET, 504, Parent Teacher Conferences)
- Participate in meetings and collaborate with colleagues
- Provide academic feedback and accommodations
- Revise and update curriculum to align with standards
- Locate resources to support student learning
CONTENT SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare students for standardized science exams (AzSCI and Science portions of ACT / ACT Aspire)
ADDITIONAL GENERAL STAFF ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement school culture
- Communicate with students and parents regarding academic progress
- Use a variety of methods and techniques to engage students in learning and increase rigor
- Meet the diverse needs of an alternative student population
- Provide recognition to students for effort and academic success and growth
- Reflect on teaching and seek to increase knowledge of content area and instructional strategies
- Attend Exceptional Student Meetings (i.e. IEP and ELL)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Arizona Teaching Certificate (preferred)
- Highly Qualified
- Dual areas preferred
- SEI endorsed preferred
4. Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
HOURS
- Full Time : 40 hours a week - 195 days a year
- Benefits offered including life insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, health benefits, 401K retirement plan, sick time accrual, summers off (typically about 6-7 weeks)
