Job Summary

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Under direction of the Principal Investigator supporting the Baar Lab for the Periodic Table of Food Initiative- Phase II Studies- "Precision Protein-Based Food Products for an Equitable, Sustainable, and Healthy Global Population" Project.

This position is an 8-month limited term appointment based on one-time funding, the project has an end date and is not ongoing.

The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator will initiate, conduct, and publish research studies connected to nutrition as it relates to muscle biology and metabolic health.

Relevant skills include experience performing tissue culture, writing and working closely with an IRB and recruiting subjects, collecting human clinical samples and data, and analyzing statistical data.

Provide support to the project based on the role of nutrition in the optimization of musculoskeletal adaptation to exercise.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Physiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field of study.
  • 3 or more years of experience assisting with research and the research process.
  • 3 or more years of experience gathering and synthesizing information from a variety of sources.
  • 3 or more years of experience communicating research results / findings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and keen attention to detail whenever working with data.
  • Knowledge of scientific research concepts and terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Sport Science or related field and experience working on research / evaluation projects focused on human clinical research.
  • Experience tracking project tasks and deliverables and adhering to project timelines.
  • Experience contributing to research proposals.
  • Knowledge of University organization policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic team environment.
  • Skills to adhere to systems designed to ensure accuracy of data and results.
  • Skills to effectively manage time and see assigned part of projects through to completion on time.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of computer applications within a PC environment (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, internet browsers).
