Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager General Ledger and Period End Close Indianapolis, IN (hybrid working) An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Financial Accounting & Reporting (FA&R) team which is a part of GBS Finance Operations and is responsible for accurately recording and reporting actual results in the areas of cash management, fixed assets, and the general ledger.
We produce management and statutory reports for each accounting period, interim and year end in accordance with published Group Finance deadlines.
FA&R service area, containing 5 service lines of Cash, Intercompany, Asset Management, General Ledger and Month End close, is responsible for the delivery of financial accounting and reporting activities within the Actuals, External Reporting, Tax, Treasury and Capital global end to end processes.
The FA&R Service Area is delivered via 2 teams with one containing Cash, Asset Management and Intercompany and the other department executing the General Ledger activities and Period End close.
The activities of both teams are intertwined and dependent on each other such that the groups share the same accountabilities and objectives to meet the period end / hard close Group Finance deadlines mutually and provide necessary back up as needed between the two teams.
As Finance Manager of GL and Period End Close you will manage the General Ledger Team and ensure the period end closes for the Rolls-Royce entities and RR Solutions America are timely and of high quality.
You will solve problems through daily interaction with accounts payable, accounts receivable, management, and the sector finance business partners.

You can learn more . Key Accountabilities :
- Lead Period End Close process including superuser activities for the US businesses including determining the timeline necessary to meet Group Finance deadlines as well as managing day-to-day details of the close process in collaboration with sectors and other NAFSC areas
- Review / approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations, assist team members with research and clearing of reconciling items and operate as a blackline administrator
- Continuously work to improve customer satisfaction through improved response time and simplified processes
- Both complete certain tasks for and Act as Backup for other FA&R service line area of Cash, Asset Management, and Intercompany where necessary and to contribute to ensure they meet their deadlines and objectives
- Provide reasonable professional skepticism with respect to manual journal entries and financial reporting related matters (e.
g., deviations from GAAP / IFRS)
Complete ad hoc task as required such as spearhead operating system requirements, contribute to improvement initiatives and any other tasks as assigned by Head of NAFSC and FP&R Manager
Basic Requirements :
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and 7+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, OR
- Bachelor's degree / CPA in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, OR
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, OR
- JD / PhD, OR
- 12+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance in lieu of a degree

Preferred Requirements :
- Experience with SAP FI / CO
- Experience with HFM
- Experience in leadership and / or management
