About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : ICU - Oncology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : 36 Experience : 2 years of ICU experience required;
First-time traveler accepted License : Pending license accepted Certifications : Required : BCLS, ACLS; Preferred : BSN Must-Have : EPIC experience required Job Description : Provide care in the Oncology ICU / SICU- Maintain patient ratios of 1 : 2- Floating within the oncology service line / ICU and potentially other areas- No chemotherapy administered, central lines, chest tubes, and nurses draw own phlebotomy- Utilize Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR handoff- Manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and IV insulin protocols- Administer blood products, manage central / PICC lines, and initiate IVs- Conduct continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips- Provide care for ventilated patients using BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, etc.
Conduct ABG interpretation, ETT / NT suctioning, ventilator management- Follow infection prevention and isolation precautions- Perform phlebotomy, manage surgical wounds with drains or wound vac- Access to provider support services like interpretation, pharmacy, PT, social services, and more- Teaching hospital experience and travel experience preferred Hospital Highlights : Magnet & Teaching Hospital, Level I Trauma Center- Requires working 2 out of 3 major holidays- Bi-weekly start dates with compliance deadlines- Open to accepting first-time travelers and those without a current license in hand- RTO (Request for Time Off) limited to 7 days per 13-week contract- Frequent floating required within the hospital or affiliate hospitals nearby
