WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) ...
This position will provide individual, family and group psychotherapy to children and adolescents. Collaborating with school personnel in four school districts in Newport County, services are provided in a school based setting during the academic year, and in the office when school is not in session.
Additionally, the School-Based Therapist will act as a consultant to school personnel on their own self-care and stress management.
Essential Duties :
- Provide group, individual and family therapy.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments including initial intakes and on-going reassessments.
- Work side by side with service recipients to create person-centered recovery plans.
- Provide clinical consultation and guidance to Bachelor level case management staff.
- Complete all agency documentation utilizing a collaborative documentation approach.
- Participate in crisis response services as part of a clinical team.
- Risk assessment for individuals who present in crisis.
- Crisis intervention, stabilization and counseling.
- Assessment for emergency hospitalization.
- Serve as a client advocate with appropriate and timely referrals to other agencies; provide consultation and follow-up communication with law enforcement agencies, community agencies, schools, medical facilities and inpatient units.
- Actively participate in team communication processes that ensure appropriate services and outcomes.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU...
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or other related social services field.
- Licensed at the independent practice level as defined by the Rhode Island Department of Health (LICSW, LMHC, PhD) preferred.
- Minimum of two years of clinical work experience.
