The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Renewables Electrical Lead Engineer. In this role, you will act as a project lead on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and or wind projects. You will serve as a technical leader, applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complex renewable energy projects. This role will be a strategic contributor to the growth of our Renewables Lifeline Sector. Qualified candidates will be considered to work remotely from any location in the US, or if the candidate chooses, may work from any of Ulteig's existing office locations.

What You'll Do

• Develop and review electrical designs for wind and battery energy storage projects, including one-line diagrams, grounding, protection schemes, and cable sizing.
• Serve as the technical lead on projects, coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and clients to ensure technical excellence and project success.
• Perform electrical studies such as cable ampacity, energy loss, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and grounding analysis.
• Prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, inverters, and batteries.
• Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, including field inspections and troubleshooting.
• Conduct technical reviews and enforce quality control to maintain high standards in design and implementation.
• Provide technical guidance during construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure the design intent is achieved in the field.
• Research new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project performance and efficiency.
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC).
• Participate in client meetings, present technical information clearly, and support proposal development with technical input.

Additional Opportunity Details :

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $118,000- $160,000
