Payroll Specialist
Tiegerman is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
This is a full-time position (benefits eligible) based out of our Glen Cove location. Hours are 8 : 00 AM-4 : 00 PM. Non-exempt position, overtime eligible.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to) :
- Process bi-weekly payroll for two companies accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Review and modify time and attendance records.
- Enter new employees into the Payroll system.
- Terminate departing employees from the Payroll system.
- Process Payroll vouchers for all employee changes regarding any change of salary, title, transfer or employment status.
- Make all changes to deductions from payroll including but not limited to : health benefits, pension, garnishments, pension loans.
- Process all additional pay slips (ie. overtime forms).
- Make changes to employee direct deposit, tax withholdings, and / or any deductions.
- Assist with our Human Resource Functions.
- Review all Pension Reports.
- Distribute all pension notices to all staff.
- Perform all duties assigned by department Supervisor.
- Perform data entry tasks efficiently.
Experience :
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills :
- Proficiency in debits and credits principles.
- Experience in general ledger reconciliation.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data.
- Knowledge of payroll management processes.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable procedures.
- Ability to use ADP or similar timekeeping systems.
- Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll.
- Accurate and efficient in data entry tasks.
