Companion Linc is a 245D Waivered Services provider that supports over 130 individuals throughout the Metro area with a variety of developmental or physical support needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy.

Competitive Pay & Great Benefits - Direct Support Professionals start at $18.00 / hour with a raise at 12 months, based upon satisfactory performance.

Position, Hours & Wage :
- Direct Support Professional
- Full-Time (35-40 hours / week)
- Monday-Friday varying between 7 : 00AM-5 : 00PM (*need to be flexible with start and end time)

- Tuesday, Thursday and Friday varying between 7 : 00AM-5 : 00PM (*need to be flexible with start and end time)

Department Description :
This position will support Companion Club - a community-based alternative to the "typical" day program with a focus on community integration and aiding the individuals in building community relationships and developing more natural supports.
With 40 young adults divided into small groups each staff is responsible for supporting 1-3 individuals each day to participate in a variety of recreation / leisure activities of their choosing Monday through Friday in the local community.
Job Duties :
- Support people in scheduled activities which may include : volunteer experiences, tours of museums, exploring community parks or nature centers, crafts, baking, and many other options;
- Provide individuals with physical, emotional, and behavioral support allowing them to actively participate in activities offered while encouraging personal choices and assisting to maintain their personal safety;
- Provide transportation, in personal and company-owned vehicles, throughout the day to and from the individuals' homes and activity locations in the community;
- Facilitate appropriate social interactions with community and group members while encouraging active participation in all activities offered;
- Assist individuals to become valued members of the community, build relationships, and increase skills of daily living;
- Assist with personal hygiene - specifically toileting and handwashing - during scheduled shifts;
- Complete detailed, accurate documentation as assigned;
- Other duties specific to individuals supported.
Job Requirements :
- Ability to lift and carry at least 20 lbs
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license (*no exceptions)
- Dependable vehicle with current auto insurance (* no exceptions)
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Minnesota DHS background study clearance
- Prefer work experience in the human services field
- Willingness to participate with the individuals supported a in variety of scheduled community activities
