House of Hope, a nonprofit organization, is looking for a detailed-oriented and well-organized Staff Accountant to join our team! As a Staff Accountant your position is essential in preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial activities.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills :
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- At least two years of related experience required.
- Computer Literate
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs general accounting and other related duties.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Monthly reconciliation of credit card and petty cash accounts.
- Record payroll expenses
- Assist in month end and year end closing activities.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities
- Adept in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks online.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or similar software, and accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to accepted accounting principles.
