Pay Range : $35+ / hour (Based on Experience)

Position Type : Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
• Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Provide specialized instruction in a resource room setting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
• Use various teaching methods to promote student engagement and learning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and performance.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and progress.
• Work on academics / pre-academics, social-emotional, and adaptive / self-help skills.
• Monitor and support students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills.

Educational Requirements :

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• State certification in Special Education.
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Experience with IEP development and implementation.

SPED Certifications :

• Michigan State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Specific endorsements may include Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), and others as required.
• Completion of all necessary continuing education requirements to maintain certification.
