About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Nurse Job Specialty : Medical / Surgical Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night Shift, 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM), 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of one year of nursing experience License : Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse Certifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC) Must-Have : - Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing Job Description : Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, reporting, and accountability to the Nurse Manager / Director.
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Essential Duties : Participate in identifying and meeting self-learning needs.
- Attend education programs based on identified learning needs.- Utilize patient education materials relevant to patient population.
- Assess patient, family, and caregiver readiness to learn.- Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed in the revision of the plan of care.
- Participate in discussions with interdisciplinary team members in evaluating patient care.- Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care planning.- Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs.
- Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, and / or high risk for discharge planning.
- Develop goals for professional growth and participate in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Promote cost-effective care and provide feedback to co-workers.- Maintain awareness of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting the healthcare environment.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.- Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families.
- Collaborate with patient and family to prepare or update the plan of care.- Address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care.
- Stay informed through journals and bring ideas and questions to the team for assessment. Preferred Qualifications : BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
