Department / Unit Summary

Accesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.

May provide patient care when necessary.

Serves as a resource to nurses and house supervisors within and across service lines.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practice into operations and clinical practice.

Actively participates in service, departmental and hospital wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing to those ones represents.

Provides coaching for immediate subordinates providing feedback, constructive critique of work, facilitates the development of their problem solving and decision-making skills, and documents their performances annually.

Follows progressive disciplinary action process (or oversees in doing so) to maintain productivity and / or performance standards.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelors degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include :

Minimum Education Bachelors Degree required

Masters Degree preferred

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Proficient with the electronic medical record.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to manage time efficiently

Licenses : Current RN licensure that is valid in NC Certifications :

Basic Life Support (BLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Work

Minimum of five years experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care required Minimum of two years' experience as a Charge Nurse / Supervisor in Critical Care preferred.
