Summary of the Job :

As a Senior Associate, Partnership Risk, you will play a critical role in supporting the bank's compliance and risk management efforts. This position will have a specialized focus on Fair Lending. This role works independently and requires a high level of expertise, independence, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position will support general compliance functions and serve as the Fair Lending Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the first line of defense in the bank's Partnership division, helping business units navigate regulatory requirements and proactively managing compliance-related risks. Your day-to-day work will include consulting with business units on new / revised products and services, interpreting regulations, reviewing and opining on new and modified credit strategies, and providing consultative support to internal stakeholders.

About This Role : Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate compliance-related projects, including :

Interpreting new regulatory requirements

  • Developing and maintaining project plans
  • Collaborating with impacted business units and risk partners
  • Updating management on project status
  • Producing summary documentation
  • Serve as the Fair Lending SME by :
  • Advising lines of business on ECOA / Fair Lending compliance matters

  • Reviewing line of business policies, procedures and training from an ECOA / Fair Lending perspective
  • Consulting with lines of business on new / revised products, services, marketing criteria, and automated systems to ensure sufficient consideration of and compliance with ECOA / Fair Lending requirements
  • Reviewing Fair Lending complaints
  • Advising business units on regulatory expectations and risk mitigation strategies
  • Work proactively with business line contacts and management to ensure effective and efficient compliance risk management solutions are identified and implemented
  • Maintain current knowledge of banking laws and regulations, including their impact on FNBO operations
  • Provide consultative services and subject matter expertise to business units across the enterprise
  • Develop and track training related to ECOA / Fair Lending
  • Support and complete special projects as assigned
  • Promote professional behavior and foster positive working relationships across teams
  • The Ideal Candidate for This Role :

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of regulatory risk in the banking industry
  • Deep technical knowledge of assigned regulations, especially Fair Lending (ECOA)
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and to build and cultivate strong collaborative relationships
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools to enhance work efficiency
  • Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the banking industry, with a focus on compliance or risk preferred
  • Familiarity with key banking regulations (such as Reg Z, Reg B, E-Sign, SCRA, MLA)
  • Effective project management, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in :
  • Independent and sound decision-making

  • Relationship management and negotiation
  • Internal partner-centric leadership
  • Compensation :

    Compensation range (base pay) : $80,061.00-$132,099.00

    This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

    Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and / or skill level.
