About The Position
Job Title : Health Information Technician Job Specialty : Staff Augmentation Job Duration : 26 weeks Shift : Day - 8x5 - 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM, Monday to Friday Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 9 months in records management and 3 months in medical terminology and typing License : Not specified Certifications : Not specified Must-Have : - Knowledge of health information technology- Understanding of regulations governing medical record-keeping, including confidentiality and medical terminology- Proficiency in typing and using word processors and calculators- Ability to address problems with few variables within a familiar context- Competence in writing routine business letters, evaluations, or records following standard procedures- Experience in proofreading medical reports and recognizing errors- Capability to identify missing information in medical records- Skills in gathering, collating, and classifying data, people, or things Job Description : Compile health information and ensure the completeness of medical reports- Organize medical reports for filing and verify that all necessary signatures are present- Prepare and type health information forms and charts for new admissions- Fill out forms and prepare requests for specific reports or certificates- Compile and type statistical reports, including daily and monthly census, Medicaid days, admissions, discharges, and length of stay- File reports into health information records and maintain logs- Retrieve health information records using the filing system- Provide information from health records after determining the appropriateness of the request- Coordinate with other departments regarding health information records procedures
