JOB SUMMARY :

Under the direct supervision of the registered physical therapist, provides therapy assistance for assigned patients and accomplishes other related activities within the physical therapy office.

after specific training and demonstration of competencies, the aide may assist with provision of treatment as determined and prescribed by the supervising physical therapist within the boundaries of the aide job description.

EDUCATION :

Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or physical therapy from an accredited institution; possession of appropriate license / certification as determined by the State of California;

registration by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Ability to use sound judgment in applying academic knowledge and clinical experience in providing direct and indirect patient care.
• Capable of communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize time and set priorities appropriately, demonstrating flexibility.
• Ability to establish rapport with MDs, adjustors, case managers, patients, families, professionals, co-workers, and the public.
• Ability to assume responsibility and uphold decisions of supervising therapists.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment using sound judgment.
• Demonstrate integrity and discretion in all job-related matters.
• An attitude of excellence in providing quality patient care.
