THE ROLE : Principal Architect, Cloud Modernization

Job Summary :

At Presidio, we seek a highly skilled and experienced Principal Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept at engaging with clients, leading technical teams, and overseeing the successful implementation of cloud solutions.

This role will involve the successful delivery of cloud engagements.

As a Principal Architect, you will drive the strategic direction and execution of our cloud infrastructure and services. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, a proven track record in designing scalable and secure cloud solutions, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a hands-on technical expert, and a mentor to our engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities :

Project Delivery :

• Lead cloud-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.

Strategy & Planning :

• Develop and maintain the cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies and services that enhance business capabilities and improve operational efficiencies.
• Create roadmaps for cloud adoption, migration, and management.

Architecture & Design :

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.
• Define architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices for cloud adoption and operations.
• Lead the design of cloud-native applications and services.

Implementation & Management :

• Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud environments.
• Ensure cloud solutions are optimized for performance, cost, and security.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI / CD pipelines and automation strategies.

Leadership & Collaboration :

• Mentor cloud architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Collaborate with organizational stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver cloud solutions that meet business needs.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance during the entire lifecycle of cloud projects.

Required Skills :

• Experience in consultative delivery of large-scale business & technology transformation programs, working directly with senior client leaders.
• Consulting firm experience
• Experience in applying proven consulting methodologies to assess a client's current state, design a target state, conduct a gap analysis, and define a roadmap to get from the current state to the target state across people, processes, and technology.
• Desire to build business capability canvases, or equivalent, and map business outcomes to technology capabilities and cloud investments.
• Desire to build business cases, with a preference for cloud business cases as part of a client's cloud journey or digital transformation.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills, both written and oral, along with strong listening, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
• Strong facilitation skills and experience leading workshops
• Experience with Cloud / Azure / Microsoft O365 suite of tools

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and / or military experience
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as an architect or technology program lead delivering migration, transformation programs, or modernization projects on the Cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
