Currently we are accepting resumes for a talented, Senior Architect with a minimum of 15+ years experience working in the commercial architectural field to join our team.
The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and thrive in an innovative, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment mentoring design professionals.
Educational facility experience is a plus. At Huckabee, the Senior Architect is a quality focused role serving as a resource and mentor in technical knowledge to project teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the quality assurance process on projects
- Perform thorough reviews to ensure projects meet technical quality standards
- Carefully monitor the use of new materials and construction methods for compliance with best practices and standards
- Lead document review meetings with project teams to ensure understanding of corrections needed
- Serve as a technical resource to staff in all phases of a project
- Serve as a mentor to the Project Architect / Project Leader, investing in technical development
- Maintain proficiency regarding building materials, construction methods, costs, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the development of evolving best practice standards based on continuing education and lessons learned in construction
- Implement and teach standards and evolving best practices
REQUIREMENTS
- Active architectural licensure required
- Experience in a quality control efforts in an architectural firm required
- Experience as a mentor and educator to architectural staff required
- Institutional facilities experience required; educational facilities experience preferred
- Task driven and focused with high attention to detail
- Proficient in Bluebeam
- Experience in the following software is a plus
- BIM360
- Microsoft Teams
- Revit
