POSITION

Reporting to the Head of Insurance, the Senior Insurance Client Advisor - West will be responsible for proactively developing and managing Allspring's Insurance Channel (general account and retirement / pension pools) in the Western region, with a focus on new business development.

This Advisor will serve as one of the firm's key spokesperson's to "tell the story" of Allspring's capabilities to insurance investors by leveraging Allspring's deep expertise and history managing insurance company assets and finding creative ways to solve the unique and evolving investment needs of the insurance industry.

The Advisor, in coordination with the Head of Insurance, will develop and execute a sustained sales strategy that articulates the firm's solutions-based investment strategies, products and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Advisor's priority will be to cultivate new insurance relationships in the Western region using a consultative and 'solutions-driven' approach.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Leading the new business development and relationship management efforts for a defined list of insurance companies based in the West across all the investment services offered by Allspring.
  • Prospecting, initiating and closing new business with insurers for their general account, and retirement / pension pools of assets.
  • Effectively articulating Allspring's investment philosophy, investment strategies and ancillary insurance services by undertaking a consultative approach to insurance investors in conjunction with specialist portfolio management teams and other dedicated insurance resources.
  • Actively contributing to the broader insurance team's efforts in a variety of ways to help increase the firm's penetration of the market and brand awareness, and ultimate success.

This includes contributing to new product ideas, thought-leadership ideas, and bespoke insurance focused project ideas in conjunction with broader firm-wide efforts and resources.

  • Maintaining CRM pipeline and activity details by reporting regularly to Allspring management, providing updates on activity, risks, opportunities and relationship development plans.
  • Communicating investor feedback with other team members and senior management
  • Actively contributing to a culture that values collaboration, partnership, diversity, and putting client and firm interest's ahead of one's own personal agenda.
  • Achieving excellence by demonstrating high performance standards and pursuing business unit goals in the most ethical and efficient manner.

CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have 5-10+ years of experience developing relationships with sophisticated institutional investors including insurance companies.

He / She will have a proven track record of raising assets and be capable of articulating complex investment strategies and engaging in solutions-oriented discussions with senior investment professionals and key decision makers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of at least 5 years of insurance industry and / or third-party insurance asset management business development experience.
  • Demonstrated intellect - excellent oral, written and strong interpersonal communication skills, and a clear client-solutions orientation.
  • An articulated and rigorous sales process with a demonstrated track record of success in raising assets (new business development) and relationship management in the insurance general account channel that includes an actionable rolodex of CIO's and senior investment contacts at insurers.
  • An understanding, fluency and working knowledge of insurance general account investing including a deep understanding for their unique and complex needs, risk appetite and buying behavior influences.
  • Results oriented drive to succeed with high energy, a sense of urgency, a strong service orientation, a strong work ethic with an entrepreneurial mindset, and an excitement toward building a business.
  • Working knowledge of fixed income and equity investment strategies sufficient to allow for interactive, substantive and value-added discussions with insurance company CIO's and internal Allspring investment professionals.
  • Integrity and personal presence to represent Allspring with enthusiasm and distinction.
  • The ability, gravitas and credibility to draw consensus across Allspring in support of structuring creative solutions and delivering for prospects and clients.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel and meet prospects / clients in person.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

FINRA registration including SIE, Series 7 and 63

Base Pay Range : $150,000-$225,000

Salary Range for NYC and California candidates only.Actual based may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
