Role description :
Arcadis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Climate Adaptation and Water Management Team in either Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mobile, Alabama, or Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Metairie, Louisiana!
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering engineering and consulting services for a variety of projects, including those focused on shoreline stability, flood risk reduction, and waterfront infrastructure resilience.

Role accountabilities :
As a Structural Engineer, you will conduct structural analysis, design, and construction efforts for climate adaptation projects, including seismic risk reduction, flood mitigation, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
Other responsibilities include :
- Serve as a task manager within a diverse range of projects, contributing to design development, evaluation of solutions, and construction implementation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable structural solutions aligned with industry codes and standards.
- Support project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion within established timelines.
- Support business development, mentorship, and thought leadership as interested.
- Some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, or general planning purposes depending on project staffing needs.
Qualifications & Experience :
Required Qualifications :
- 5 years of progressive related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in appropriate state.
- Progressive experience in structural engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects related to water management, flood control, and seismic resilience.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit.
