The research and development (R&D) tax credit is an incentive for companies to invest resources in the development of new and improved products, processes, and software.
Forvis Mazars' R&D tax credit consultants work with companies in a multitude of industries to understand their R&D efforts and assist them with capturing these valuable tax savings.
How you will contribute :
- Providing research and development tax consulting services to a variety of clients including Fortune 500, private middle-market companies, owner-managed businesses, and start-ups
- Working as a multi-disciplinary team helping provide subject matter knowledge and experience
- Coordinating with the Manager, Senior Manager, or Partner on all phases of an R&D credit engagement including initial scoping, engagement letter, information requests, timely and proactive client communications, staffing requirements, project execution, and report and deliverable preparation
- Delegating work to and reviewing work performed by staff in accordance with their experience and capabilities
- Researching R&D credit statutes, regulations, and case law
- Gathering client documentation and assisting in the analysis of client data (both financial and technical)
- Performing research credit calculations
- Creating detailed reports to substantiate tax benefits
- Developing and reviewing descriptions of qualified project activities to support R&D credit positions
- Actively coaching and training staff on all facets of engagement execution
- Performing site visits to assist with client interviews

- Availability to travel 10% to 15% within the U.S.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field or JD
- 2 years or more of professional experience (research credit experience preferred, but not required)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
