WBW Construction is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Construction to join our team. We are looking for individuals with a proven track record in managing large-scale residential development projects, overseeing construction operations, and driving project success from bidding to project closeout.
This role will also involve enhancing our systems and processes to support our growth and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
This role is located on-site in Georgetown, TX.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide oversight and management of all aspects of project delivery, from bidding to project closeout across all territories.
- Act as a steward for the company, acknowledging shared interests, losses, and successes.
- Ensure projects are executed according to standard procedures, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, efficiency, and profitability.
- Identify and mitigate risks to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our owner and COO, understanding their needs and expectations to deliver solutions that exceed requirements and foster long-term partnerships.
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman and crews fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
- Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and empower team members to achieve their full potential.
- Drive the financial performance of all projects by monitoring budgets, forecasts, and cost control efforts.
- Track and report on project financial metrics to ensure profitability targets are met or exceeded.
- Champion a culture of quality and safety across all projects.
- Implement rigorous quality control procedures to meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements and prevent re-work.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including development, engineering, procurement, and finance teams, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as subcontractors, partners, home builders, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project success.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience using HCSS and construction project management software.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale residential development projects.
- Strong knowledge of dirt and utility construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
