Fung Lab Junior / Assistant / Associate / Full Specialist

The Fung lab is developing high-throughput screening methods for reproductive toxicants. We use a combination of chemical screening techniques, in vivo microscopy, molecular biology and genetics to study problems related to meiosis and infertility.
We work with yeast, C. elegans and mouse testis cultures. The applicant would be responsible for screening chemicals under the supervision of a postdoc or staff scientist.
The applicant will be required to gain expertise in a number of lab methods and be responsible for general lab safety and organization.
The applicant is expected to keep good lab notebooks, report to the supervisor minimally weekly and learn to be relatively independent.
The applicant is expected to attend lab meetings and present results. You also may have to work with undergraduates who come to the lab during the summer.
Qualifications :
- Individuals appointed at the Junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience.
- Individuals appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) with three or more years of research experience.
- Individuals appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five or ten years of research experience.
- Individuals appointed at the Full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of research experience.
- The applicant needs to have experience in yeast and C. elegans and be able to perform high-throughput screening.
- The applicant must have had some wet lab experience using yeast or C. elegans or prior experience working on meiosis or chemical screening.
- The candidate must have prior experience in microscopic techniques and / or high-throughput imagers.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Ability to use Excel and Word.
- Ability to run imaging pipelines and analyze images.
