Job Description :

The Gift Compliance Officer helps Brown ensure donors have a positive experience in their philanthropic support of the University.

Their primary goal is to set up donors for meaningful long-term stewardship from the beginning through their work in facilitating the development of solid gift documentation.

As a result, the Officer plays a key role in the gift agreement development, review, and approval process. Their primary responsibility is to review, prepare, evaluate, and process for approval, gift agreements that capture donor intent and ensure they align with University policies and administrative practices.

The Officer also provides basic training and education services for fundraisers and Advancement staff, including the development and maintenance of policy, process, and protocol documentation.

In addition, they ensure all relevant information is entered and maintained in a variety of tracking systems and seek to ensure that information is accurate and actionable.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field such as fundraising, higher education, nonprofits, sales, customer service, and / or grant management

Required Qualifications

Excellent organization and management skills

Strong attention to detail, especially in writing, with respect to names, grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Must be comfortable learning and using technology, both new and existing (e.g. Excel, ClickUp, Confluence, collaboration software, etc.)

Must be proficient with managing data and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems

Experience with DocuSign, Google Docs, and document management software

Experience with task and project management
