Job Summary :
The Automation Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation to support automation processes within manufacturing operations.
This role involves writing automation change protocols, change plan documents, validation documentation, and other essential technical materials.
The successful candidate will ensure that all documentation meets regulatory requirements and supports the effective implementation and maintenance of automated systems.
Will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and quality assurance teams to gather information and develop clear, accurate, and detailed documentation.
This includes interpreting complex technical information and conveying it in a user-friendly format.
Job Duties :
- Develop and maintain automation change protocols, change plan documents, and validation documentation.
- Create and update system documentation, including Business Operating Procedures (BOPs).
- Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards such as 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S88, and S95.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Provide clear and concise documentation to support automation projects and maintenance activities.
- Manage document control processes to ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Conduct regular reviews of documentation to identify and implement improvements.
- Assist in training staff on the use and interpretation of technical documentation.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all EHS Corporate and Site goals.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related discipline) or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience with automation systems and validation documentation.
- Strong understanding of GMP documentation practices and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using documentation management software and tools.
