Description

LSUHS is looking to hire an Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy. The incumbent will :

• Collaborate with faculty in development of curriculum which meets or exceeds ACOTE standards
• Advise and mentor students in professional development
• Teach graduate courses in areas of expertise in line with LSU Health OTD Program's philosophy of education, conceptual model, and curriculum design
• Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process
• Actively participate in and contribute to university and departmental committee work
• Provide community service including but not limited to participation in professional organizations, clinical service, community education (lectures, workshops), consultation, etc.
• Demonstrate scholarly productivity in area relevant to the practice of occupational therapy
• Apply for and manage internal and external funding
• Continue professional development in area of expertise and in content delivery methods

Qualifications

The applicant must meet the following :

• Doctor of Occupational Therapy or related Doctorate Degree from regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution
• Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Louisiana
• Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association
• Membership in the Louisiana State Occupational Therapy Association
• Minimum of five years' experience as a licensed occupational therapy practitioner
• Documented expertise in area of teaching responsibility and knowledge of content delivery methods (hybrid and in-person teaching)

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience at the postgraduate level
• Documented experience conducting / managing OT related research
