Position Summary

Direct human resources-related activities for NYU Dentistry, including employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and the daily operations.

Serves as a highly confidential resource, maintaining the highest levels of care, discretion, sound judgement, credibility and expertise in the field of human resources.

Manage employee and labor relations and job performance standards; counsel department heads and employees on preventing and handling workplace issues;

support diversity and inclusion practices; mediate disputes; recommend and implement solutions; refer to other offices. Using best practices and a data-driven approach, develop and implement programs to optimally attract, manage, develop, and retain employees.

Manage the recruitment process for administrative, clerical, and technical staff; determine job qualifications; assist department heads with implementing affirmative searches with diversity goals in mind.

Administer job evaluation process; create new position descriptions and identify descriptions in need of updating; consult with department heads on job changes.

Maintain HR service quality and application of university HR policies, employment laws, and procedures. Identify and surface important issues to leadership that can help to improve overall HR in the College and the University.

Qualifications

Required Education : Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education :

Master's Degree Human Resources, Labor Relations or related field

Required Experience :

7+ years Progressively broader human resources experience as a human resources generalist, with significant recruiting and employee relations experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :

Ability to logically examine and interpret information from different sources to develop a course of action. Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Demonstrates the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $105,000.00 to USD $125,000.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
