Candidates must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate should have clinical experience and stable job history with longevity within their positions previously held.
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive :
- Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment.
- Recording medical history and confirming the purpose of the visit.
- Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing the patient for treatment.
- Prepares patients for examination.
- Help Physicians / PA’s examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Practice teamwork, service, and respect for coworkers and patients.
- Maintain accurate patient electronic charts.
- Patient Education.
- Returning patient phone calls.
- Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Collecting, documenting, and delivering lab specimens.
Medical Assistant / Nurse Skills and Qualifications :
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
- Creating a Safe, Effective Environment.
- Organization.
- Possess a strong work ethic and high level of professionalism.
- Confidentiality.
- Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
