No Duties and Responsibilities The Department of Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago seeks qualified candidates for a Temporary Instructor appointment (non-renewable) for the Spring 2025 semester.

Engineering at Loyola is relatively new, having graduated its inaugural undergraduate class in 2019 and achieved ABET accreditation in 2020.

It is consistently ranked in the Top 60 in the annual U.S. News and World Report Best Undergraduate Programs (No Doctorate) list, and in the Top 10 in the annual American Society for Engineering Education Percentage of Bachelors Degrees Awarded to Women list.

The department serves 150 majors and has 3 specializations in the areas of Biomedical, Computer, and Environmental Engineering.

We welcome candidates with a strong teaching profile in Systems Engineering. Because Loyola Engineering's curriculum emphasizes system theory, we are seeking candidates with significant signal processing backgrounds.

This position involves teaching courses in engineering and in Loyola's Interdisciplinary Honors Program. Specifically, teaching responsibilities comprise a twelve credit-hour load including Introduction to Digital Signal Processing (Engineering Systems III), our Freshman Engineering Seminar, and an Honors course on Science and Society.

All engineering courses are taught using the Department's active-learning teaching style.

Qualifications The candidate will have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering at the time of appointment.
