Full Time Evening Registered Nurse
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in providing skilled nursing care to residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as supervising other staff members.
In addition to direct care, the role involves participation in resident and family teaching / conferences and ensuring continuity of care between shifts.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Assess residents on admission and when conditions change
- Educate on pain management techniques and review pain logs
- Evaluate resident's condition and nursing needs, setting goals and prescribing appropriate nursing action
- Submit clear and timely records and documentation
- Notify physician of changes in resident's condition and follow through on orders
- Participate in walking rounds and provide thorough shift reports
- Interact with residents, families, and staff in a respectful and knowledgeable manner
- Administer medications and identify clinical changes related to medical diagnosis
- Supervise and lead other healthcare team members, acting as a preceptor / resource person
- Function as a resident advocate, protecting their rights
- Comply with applicable regulations and policies
Education / Experience Requirements
REQUIRED :
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED :
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher degree
- One year experience in long term care
Licensure / Certification Requirements
REQUIRED :
Registered Nurse licensure in NYS
Preferred :
Basic Life Support Certification
