What we are looking for

We are seeking an Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialist to be an integral part of AscellaHealth's Accounting and Finance team.

This position will process accounts payable invoices and record accounts receivable cash receipts for the company’s vendors.

The role is based in our Berwyn, PA office. It is a hybrid role that requires in-office work four days per week and one day of work from home.

What the position will be doing

  • Set up new vendors in accordance with established new vendor processes.
  • Field, evaluate, and process vendor invoices per established processes.
  • Process weekly cash disbursement runs within Ascella’s financial system - ACHs, wires, and paper checks.
  • Process paper check cash receipts through the bank deposit process.
  • Monitor bank accounts and take necessary action for ACHs and wires received.
  • Apply cash receipts to customer invoices within Ascella’s financial system, investigate documentation to resolve bank account discrepancies, and issue stop payments and adjustments.
  • Adhere to and support established internal control processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to department team effort by assisting others with overlapping tasks, problems, and reconciliation issues.
  • Assist with external audit requests.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or necessary; remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities

  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or four-year equivalent, in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
  • At least two (2) years of accounting or related experience.
  • Experience in working with accounting software and databases and Dynamics Business Central knowledge is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Strong organizational skills with relentless attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions
  • Ability to use independent judgment and initiative based on familiarity with organization and accounting processes and procedures.
  • Flexibility and ability to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team mentality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is a plus
  • Ability to navigate and work proficiently in the Company’s financial systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
