Established Agriculture equipment dealer is looking for a Service Manager to oversee their Service Department at a local store.
The dealership is well-respected and this position will be responsible for turning out high-quality service in a timely manner while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Previous management experience is preferred as this position is overseeing multiple employees in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
- Assists in developing, and executes, Service Department marketing plan and monitors monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goals
- Monitors all service warranty and Product Improvement Program expiration dates to keep within within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
- Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge
- Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing : closes work orders in a timely fashion
- Ensures all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order
- Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
- Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.
- Attends to, and resolves, employee and inter-departmental issues in a fair and expedient manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- 4+ years experience in Service Department operations
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications
- Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
- Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
- Excellent customer service skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Physical, Mental and Other Requirements :
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing / using ladders
- Ability to use a forklift / skid loader
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Valid drivers license with an insurable driving record required
- Must pass a pre-employment background study and credit check
