Paralegal

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Paralegal for a contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients in Chicago, IL . (% remote CST hours)

Responsibilities :

• Reviews and drafts various agreements and other documents to advise internal clients, including but not limited to, independent contractor agreements, purchase agreements, service agreements, supplies agreements, consignment agreements, clinical affiliations agreements, confidentiality agreements, and event agreements.
• Processes incoming email communications in a timely manner to effectively maintain and keep IP database and electronic files current.
• Assists Technology Transfer Office and patent counsel in Legal on day-to-day management of intellectual property portfolio.
• Manages patent docketing deadlines including generating deadline reports.
• Manages annuities and maintenance fee schedules and payments.
• Assists in intellectual property disclosure management.
• Assists in management of licensing portfolio.
• Prepares standard letters and reports.
• May, on occasion, be asked to prepare and electronically file legal documents and communicate with USPTO to address any procedural matters.
• Gathers, organizes, summarizes, indexes, and maintains documents from various sources.
• Maintains a library of pre-approved form documents, contract clauses, templates, and historical documents, and adds or revises material, as needed.

Required Skills :

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Paralegal degree or certificate required.
• Three years of experience as an intellectual property paralegal required.
• Familiarity with the United States Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) system and other patent-related databases as well as the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Manual of Patent Examination Procedure (MPEP) required.
• Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point; knowledge of patent docketing software systems (CPI and Inteum) required.
• Proficient in designing and producing high quality reports and presentations.
