Optum Radiology, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team.

Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes.

Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner, as well as instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors.

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator r eceives payments from patients, issues receipts and posts payment data.

Schedule : Monday through Friday a 37.5-hour work week, between the hours of 7 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire.

L ocation : Stillwell Ave.Ground Floor, Brooklyn, NY

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Greets patients as they arrive and manage appropriate standard wait times
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, as well as authorizations verifications, and copy required documents
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Processes walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answers phones and schedules appointments
  • Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
  • Manages medical records (maintains, files / scans, prepares for schedule)
  • Prioritizing incoming calls
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and / or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the providers
  • Schedules procedural appointments
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :

High School Diploma / GED (or higher)1+ years of receptionist or customer service experience in a healthcare settingIntermediate level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Outlook, Teams)Ability to travel 10% of the time if needed to cover other offices

Preferred Qualifications :

Ability to speak Mandarin or CantoneseExperience as a receptionist in a healthcare settingExperience working with an electronic health recordsKnowledge and ability to learn and apply job functions, and minimal medical terminology knowledge

Soft Skills :

Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

New York Residents Only : The salary range for New York residents is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
