We are now hiring a Dietary Cook for a Nursing facility. The Cook prepares and assists with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Cook is responsible for food preparation in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures. The Cook may be directed by the Dietitian to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review menus prior to preparation of food
- Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods
- Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary
- Work with the facility's dietitian and implement recommended changes as required
- Ensure that all food service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
- Cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Dietary / food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferredMust have Illinois Food Service Sanitation certificationMust be knowledgeable of dietary proceduresMust be able to read, speak and write the English language in an understandable mannerMust function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agenciesMust be able to move intermittently throughout the workdayMust be able to push, pull, move, and / or lift a minimum of 50 poundsMaintain a professional appearance at all timesMust be willing to work every other weekendExperience level :
