Pay Information

$2,130 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Duration : 16 weeks

Shift : Day 3x12-Hour

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 3 years in a Level III or IV NICU.

License : Current WA license or Compact license.

Certifications : BLS, NRP.

Must-Have :

  • Experience with level III or IV NICU.
  • Competency in administering blood products and managing ventilators.
  • Ability to care for neonates as well as perform therapeutic hypothermia.

Description :

Previous permanent employees must have a gap of 3 months to qualify for this position.

Travelers typically do not admit babies, as there is a dedicated nurse in that role.

Floating to Pediatrics may occur but is rare.

Staff are required to be open to floating to different campuses.

Experience with neonates as young as 23-24 weeks gestation is necessary.

The unit does not manage ECMO but handles various ventilator types, blood administration, and neonatal surgeries.

Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Patient ratios are expected to be 2 : 1 during all shifts.

Special procedures involve the use of CPAP, BiPAP, high-frequency vents, and management of feeding tubes.

RNs are expected to attend high-risk deliveries.

Managers work closely with staff to accommodate schedule requests.

Travelers may be assigned as sitters, which does not require direct patient care.

Candidates should be prepared for potential to float to other care areas as needed.

Compliance with onboarding requirements is essential before starting the position.

References covering previous work experience will be required during the compliance process.
