Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Child Care Services, the Out of School Time Coordinator plans and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum geared to the needs of each child in his / her care / classroom / program, including the health & safety of the children and adherence to all YMCA Child Protection policies.

Job Duties :

  • Plan and coordinate programming for youth participants
  • Supervise OST Staff, program activities, and groups of children
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and standards as established by the law, the YMCA, all MA Departments of EE&C regulations;

maintains the program site, equipment; and required program records

  • Nurtures children through purposeful programming; plan activities that are intended to achieve program goals and outcomes, are developmentally appropriate and are consistent with the Y's values.
  • Creates a positive rapport and shared interest with youth; models relationship-building skills in all interactions
  • Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about their child's needs and progress; connects families to the Y.
  • Project a professional image, including a neat appearance, a positive manner and dependable attendance and be a role model for children families, and other staff.
  • Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have School Aged Educator qualifications required of Early Education and Care (DEEC)
  • 3 years of experience working in an afterschool setting or similar environment with experience managing staff, developing curriculum, implementing EEC regulations preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required; or within 60 days of hire
  • Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite software programs

Schedule : 40 hours per week. Typically, Mondays thru Fridays between the hours of 9 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm.

Job Type : Full-Time Hourly

Pay : $21.00 per hour with full benefit package to include : generous paid time off (PTO), Medical, Dental, Life, Vision, Pet and Disability Insurance.
