Clear Staff is helping a client in Bensenville for a Maintenance Technician.

Essential Functions :

• Observe and listen to operating machinery or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, as scheduled
• Dismantle, rebuild and reassemble machinery using hand and power tools
• Install and program a wide range of electronic devices drive, heat controllers and display panels
• Install a wide range of new and used equipment
• Assist in the installation of new electrical, air and water metal pipe tubing
• Assist in wiring new electrical panes by following electrical print Knowledge :

Skills and Abilities :

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to install new machinery and troubleshoot and repair various pieces of existing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams, blueprints and schematics
• Competency in performing basic mathematic calculations - fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• Analytical skills with the ability to use logic in identifying problem areas
• Efficient time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with consistent accuracy
• The ability to read and communicate information and ideas both in spoken and written form in English so others will understand

Qualifications :

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• One year of experience working as a Maintenance Technician or equivalent experience in a maintenance group

Work Environment :

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee operates within a plant environment and routinely uses various tools and operates various machines.

The employee is exposed to vibration and loud continuous noise from operating machinery

Physical Demands :

This is a plant environment, therefore, while performing the essential functions of the job the employee is required to stand or walk on a consistent basis and may on a frequent basis be required to twist, turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat or climb.

The employee must use safe lifting techniques when lifting objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally carry out repetitive hand / wrist movements to include forearm rotation.

Simple grasping of a ruler, measuring tape, caliper, micrometer as well as the operation of lathes, milling machines, drill presses, shapers, or grinders and the use of hand tools is also required.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee is frequently required to listen and speak, and use his / her hands to operate tools and equipment.
