JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a CMA for Duke Cardiology of Cary to perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice to assist medical and / or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure office runs smoothly.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform patient intake including : obtaining vital signs, administering survey tools, data collection, assisting patients with ambulation / toileting, reviewing patient medications
• Completing procedural tasks including : administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including EKGs, 6-minutewalks, orthostatic blood pressures), reviewing pre-printed material with patient / family, bill for nursing procedures.
• Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant programaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
• High school or GED graduation required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
• BLS required
