Healthcare Regulatory Transactional Attorney

Role Purpose

Seeking a Healthcare Regulatory Transactional Attorney to structure deals and business models that comply with federal and state healthcare regulations while meeting clients' commercial objectives. You will draft and negotiate compliance-driven documentation, advise on regulatory risk, and support audits and litigation matters with regulatory expertise.

This is a high-visibility role working directly with firm leadership and partnering closely with corporate / business attorneys on a robust, growing pipeline of healthcare-related transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Analysis & Deal Structuring : Identify and interpret applicable federal and state regulatory schemes; design compliant structures that align with client business and financial goals.
  • Document Drafting : Prepare and tailor transactional documents, policies, and ancillary agreements to ensure regulatory compliance and operational fit.
  • Business Model Feasibility : Provide practical guidance on the viability of proposed arrangements from business, financial, and regulatory perspectives.
  • Audits & Inquiries : Represent clients in audits and inquiries by Medicare and other payors / insurance carriers.
  • Litigation Support : Partner with litigators on the regulatory components of civil and criminal healthcare matters.
  • Leadership Collaboration : Work directly with firm leadership and corporate department chairs to enhance support for healthcare-related transactions across practice teams.
  • Creative Problem-Solving : Develop compliant, business-oriented solutions that address complex client needs under tight timelines.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 6+ years of experience focused on healthcare regulatory transactions.
  • Bar Admission : New Jersey required; New York a plus.
  • Deep familiarity with key healthcare laws and regulations, including the Stark Law , Anti-Kickback Statute , Medicare policy , and corporate practice doctrines .
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with a record of delivering pragmatic, creative advice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and legal writing skills.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
