Medical Billing / Collections specialist is responsible for managing the billing and payment process for healthcare services.

Their main role is to ensure accurate and timely billing of medical procedures and services provided to patients. Some of the key responsibilities of a medical billing specialist include :

1. Coding and Billing : Assign appropriate medical codes to services and procedures based on documentation provided by healthcare providers.

These codes are used for billing insurance companies and patients.

2. Insurance Claims : Prepare and submit insurance claims to insurance companies on behalf of healthcare providers. They ensure that all necessary documentation and information are included to support the claim.

3. Follow-up on Claims : Track and follow-up on submitted claims to ensure timely payment. They identify and resolve any issues or errors that may result in claim denials or delays in payment.

4. Patient Billing : Generate and send invoices to patients for services not covered by insurance or for co-pays and deductibles.

They answer patient inquiries and provide assistance in understanding and resolving billing issues.

5. Compliance : Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and insurance guidelines related to medical billing.

They stay updated on changes in billing and coding practices and implement necessary adjustments.

6. Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing activities, including patient information, insurance details, and payment transactions.

7. Communication : Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing-related issues, answer inquiries, and provide necessary information.

but fully equipped with lab, X-ray, CT scanner and ultrasound. We are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It is a very pleasant situation : great location, wonderful parking, great nearby restaurants, wonderful staff to work with, good pay, safe environment, and the ER itself has 4.

9 Google rating(max of 5). We are looking for warm, patient, caring physician who has some ER experience. Can be trained in family practice, internal medicine or pediatrics but should be able to be comfortable managing the average ER patient.

We do not see high acuity patients. We are in the city of Bellaire which is a very quiet, affluent community.
