American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Operating Room position requiring a BSN and at least 3 years of OR experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a hospital acute care setting within a 35-room Operating Room department
  • Level 1 Trauma OR serving a broad surgical patient population
  • Shifts are typically 10 hours, with some 8- and 12-hour possibilities, and require working independently
  • Call shifts are required, including 1-4 overnight call shifts per week and 3-4 late / flex shifts every 4 weeks
  • Works every 4th weekend
  • No floating to other units, but must be flexible within all OR specialties as needed
  • EMR system used is Epic and experience is required
  • Nurse circulates for one OR room per assignment
  • Responsibilities include circulating in the OR and managing all aspects of perioperative patient care
  • Orientation to the unit is provided and expected to be completed within one week
  • A one-day hospital orientation includes charting, ESAR privileges, and pre-op / PACU orientation as needed
  • Department provides ceil blue scrubs and adheres to strict surgical dress code, including no earrings
  • All clinicians must badge in and out each shift
  • Shift schedule is based on a Sunday through Saturday work week
  • Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted with an adjusted pay rate

  • Active SD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience
  • Level 1 Trauma OR experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Must not have been employed at the facility within the past 6 months
