Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This role is for a Significant Support Needs (SSN) Special Education Teacher to work in a supportive and collaborative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Instructional Duties :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students.
- Deliver effective instruction to students with significant support needs.
- Create a structured and engaging learning environment for students.
Classroom Management :
- Manage a classroom with 6 students and 3 paraeducators.
- Provide leadership and support to paraeducators to ensure a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.
Student Support :
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
- Address the individual academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of students.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and educational professionals to support student development.
Collaboration :
- Work with school staff, parents, and guardians to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans.
Requirements
Experience :
- At least 2 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with a background in SSN or elementary special education.
- Strong experience working with students who have significant support needs.
Licensure :
Valid Colorado Special Education Generalist license.
Skills :
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective IEPs.
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
