Plumber / Pipefitter / Sprinkler Fitter

Working with minimal supervision, perform all aspects of PLUMBER / PIPEFITTER / SPRINKLER FITTER related installation, modification, and repairs as well as general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools, equipment, and safety requirements. Troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and installs various plumbing related systems and equipment related to facility and manufacturing process needs, including air, gas, water, steam, process, fluid distribution, vent, waste, and mechanical piping. according to approved codes.

What You Will Do :

  • Works from sketches, prints, operating manuals and other written and / or verbal direction.
  • Maintains, repairs and installs various plumbing, piping, and sprinkler related systems.
  • Works to layout, install and maintain piping for high-pressure and low-pressure air, gas, water, steam, waste, process, fluid distribution, illuminating gas, hydrogen, oxygen and other liquids and gases for equipment related to manufacturing process and the facility, as well as fire sprinkler systems.
  • Makes major repairs to pipelines within and leading to various ovens, plating tanks, degreasers, manufacturing and test equipment, etc.
  • Maintains hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid and caustic washing machines and storage installations using safety equipment prescribed.
  • Works under engineering direction on water processing installations for production.
  • Creates stock lists in conjunction with or reviewed with the group leader.
  • Works with a variety of hand and power tools including, but is not limited to, ProPress, Megapress, power and manual pipe threaders, hot tap, tripod, cutters, benders, power snakes, bench drills and grinders, electric drills and hammers, orbital tube welder.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Current Massachusetts journeyman plumber's license and / or current Massachusetts journeyman sprinkler fitter license and / or Massachusetts Pipefitters license
  • Four (4) years apprenticeship plumbing or five (5) years minimum related experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Additional Details : This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement. Wage and workplace conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement.
